Olympian and former JWDC coach
Katie McDowell was a five-time All-American sailor (four-time Women All-American and one-time Co-ed All-American). She won four national titles while in college – one single-handed championship and three women's nationals.
Ms. McDowell was on the US Sailing team from 2001-2004 and competed in the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics as the 470 skipper with teammate Isabelle Kinsolving where they placed fifth. Other Olympic sailing highlights included top ten finishes at the 2004 World Championships, 2004 European Championships and 2004 Kieler Woche.
In addition, Ms. McDowell has coached numerous clinics including the Junior Women’s Doublehanded Championship for the Ida Lewis Trophy in 1998 and 1999.
She graduated from Brown University and holds a masters of business administration from Yale University. Ms. McDowell is currently a Vice President at Janes Capital Partners, a boutique investment bank focused on the aerospace and defense industry.
